Access Roles / Role Based User Access (RBAC)

Access roles (aka Role Based User Access or RBAC) are critical for ensuring that users have the right level of permission to perform their tasks while protecting sensitive data and maintaining security.

Secureframe offers 3 default roles (Admin, Super Admin and Auditor) and these role settings are not customizable.

However, Super Admins can create a new role with flexible access to tailor to your companies needs.

How to create new Access Roles

  • Head to the Personnel Page
  • Click the gear icon in the top right corner
  • Click on the Roles tab
  • Click Create Role in the top right corner and provide a name
  • Finally select the areas of the platform you wish this role to have access and save
  • Note: Only Super Admins can create new roles

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the big difference between a Super Admin and regular Admin?

  • The Super Admin role is crucial for safeguarding sensitive data, such as background checks, Performance Reviews and more by limiting access to only those with the highest level of responsibility.
  • This role ensures that sensitive information is protected from unauthorized access and helps maintain strict control over who can view and manage such data. By centralizing access to a select few, the Super Admin role reduces the risk of data breaches, aligns with compliance requirements, and helps the organization uphold strong security and privacy standards.

I tried to export Background Checks but I get the following error and nothing shows up in the export?

  • Certain exports like Background checks and Performance Reviews are sensitive and can only be exported by Super Admins.
