Secureframe Workspaces let you manage multiple companies (subsidiaries, divisions, or brands) from a single parent organization in Secureframe. Each workspace operates independently, with its own compliance posture, frameworks, personnel, and settings. Workspaces give your organization a centralized view of compliance across all of your linked companies.

Who can use Workspaces?

Workspaces is available to organizations with an active Workspaces subscription. Access is role-based: Workspace Admins at the parent organization can view the full Workspaces list and open any linked workspace company. Workspace companies (children) only have access to their own organization and cannot view or access other workspaces in the list.

If you are interested in learning more about Workspaces or would like to add a subscription, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Account Manager for more details.

Common use cases

Workspaces is a good fit for organizations that need to manage compliance across multiple distinct entities while keeping their data and audit scopes separate. Some common examples include:

  • Subsidiaries on different frameworks. A parent company pursuing SOC 2 may have a subsidiary pursuing CMMC or ISO 27001. Each workspace maintains its own framework configuration, controls, and audit trail independently.

  • Separate audit scopes. If different business units are subject to different audits or regulators, Workspaces lets you scope each entity cleanly without commingling evidence or personnel.

  • Centralized oversight with local ownership. Parent org admins can monitor compliance posture across all workspaces, while each subsidiary manages its own day-to-day compliance work.

If your organization uses shared compliance assets (such as integrations or vendor connections) across multiple entities, Workspaces supports connecting them to each workspace as needed. Admins should ensure each asset is connected and configured individually within each workspace.

Where to find Workspaces

To access Workspaces, click your profile icon in the top navigation and select Workspaces from the dropdown menu. You will land on the Your workspaces page, which lists all workspace companies linked to your parent organization. Each row displays the workspace name, its active frameworks, and a summary of users and admins. From here, you can search or filter the list and click Open to enter any workspace.

Note: If you do not see Workspaces in this menu, it does not mean you are not part of a Workspace. It may mean you only have access to your own organization and not the full list of subsidiaries. Contact your admin or Secureframe account team if you have questions about your access level.
